This is the area where my passion is strongest. I appreciate the challenge of attempting to capture the essence of the subject which I am working with. I have examples of my artwork in the Art Gallery. I am also pleased to accept projects creating licensed commercial art as well as custom art.
By capturing the feel of the real world environment, the user experience is enhanced by giving the software a feel of real world application, combined with ease of use. In addition a visually stimulating surrounding provides the right atmosphere for the product or service at hand.
I have created a handful of interfaces for computer projects based on a concept called "virtual learning environments" Basically. the software pieces are rather dynamic, changing based on the decisions made by the person working through the courseware. The objective of VLE's is usually a dynamic, fun and effective way to train as well as highly cost effective.
Since my skills are mostly concentrated on the visual side of a project, I am a perfect candidate for small and home businesses looking for cost effective yet professional work. I can also work with a team of back end programmers for those who have technical skills but are lacking in the visual department which is often the case with programmers who work for themselves.
I have access to a team of CBT trainers who have worked on projects for the Canadian Military and for local Universities.
Providing learners with the opportunity to practice skills, safely make mistakes, and receive just-in-time feedback greatly enhances the learning process. Unfortunately, many courses and instructors treat learners as passive sponges by telling learners what to learn and how to learn. The greatest impediment to learning does not lie with the learner but with the design and delivery of the instructional material.
Creating educational experiences that afford the learner the opportunity to learn by doing is often considered impractical or impossible. As a result, information is presented sequentially as a pace determined by the instructor.
By using advanced technology to create virtual learning environments whereby students can learn experientially builds ideal learning environments where learners solve problems in order to acquire the required knowledge and skills. By safely experiencing failure, and learning from their mistakes by receiving just-in-time coaching, the goal-based virtual learning environments are media rich, engaging, learner-controlled, and most importantly, highly effective applications.
